Nicoa Coach:

sometimes don't, you just need a quick moment of inspiration. Or maybe you just need a moment of caffeinated contemplation to reflect on life. That's the idea behind my weekly coffee with Nicola espresso shots, I'll be sharing short jolts of inspiration in each clip, in addition to my longer Coffee with Nicoa interview episodes, make sure to subscribe so you never miss an espresso shot, or a full length Coffee with Nicoa interview created just for you. Good morning, everybody. It's Nicoa coming to you from Whiskey Creek. This is your weekly espresso shot. And I have been really reflecting a lot lately about who people really are, who you really are, who I really am, and how there's still such a gap between the connection that we each have with each other, there's this, there's too many layers, there's too many masks, too many facades, too much of an influence and brainwashing from society, causing us to not really allow ourselves to be our true self. And I've been practicing in my life by design, to be much more truthful, to speak my truth to speak how I feel, to be direct to set boundaries, to articulate my needs, and to be okay if things change as a result of me being authentically me. And there's this line in a song that I referenced frequently, and I finally you'll be proud of me, I looked it up. Because I could, every time I reference it, I can never remember the name of the song or the singer. And it's from the band floor cache. That song called your somebody else. And there's this one line. And I found the lyrics. And it says, I saw the part of you that only when you're older, you will see too, you will see too. And I liked that line, because it kind of I flipped it for myself as as a coach. And as a friend. And as a mother and as a partner. And as a daughter and a sibling, I saw the part of you or I see the part of you that maybe only when you're older, you will see too, it's like I have this ability to kind of see through the facade and the layers that you're bringing forward in interaction with me. And I guess that's my job as a coach for me to be able to see through the story that you're telling, see through the emotion that you're sharing, see through the body, the nonverbals, and the body experience that you're having, in order to help you help yourself move towards a way of being capital B, a way of being that's more fulfilling for you. And it says if with every interaction, I can see you, I see what's possible for you. And now what's interesting as a coach, and many coaches who are listening to this are going to relate, we can't always see the part of us that only when we're older, we will see to even in the midst of that process for others. So I often have to really look in the mirror. And I'm literally mean I look in the mirror, you could look up some work called Mirror work by Louise Hay, please look that up, out. I'll try to remember to put it in the in the show notes. But mirror work helps. And mirror work holds you accountable to seeing yourself. And I like now to spend time asking myself, What is the part of me then only when I'm older, I will see too. And the way I've been doing that recently is I've been looking at my elders. I've been looking at my mother. I'm thinking back on my father. I sat next to a woman today while I was getting my nails done, who was probably 89 years old. I was looking at her hands and her skin and listening to her voice. And I've thought often in my lifetime about you know what, gosh, wouldn't it be nice when we're old? We're really old and we stopped worrying about everything and we stop. We stop needing everybody to love us so much. And and by the way, once you get to be old. Isn't it funny how people start treating you differently. I've watched people treat my mother, you know, with such kid gloves and tenderness and gentleness and I'm like, Oh, I wish we could start treating each other that way now. I mean, notice how you treat an elderly person on the street versus a regular person. And I look at elderly people and I'm thinking to myself, they used to be me. They used to be just like me. They used to want to, you know, have this family and grow their career. and live their life fully when they were insecure, or they were mean, or they were joy filled, they had all the personality traits that people tend to sometimes judge when someone's not either a child or an elder. So there's a lot I'm playing with today, but I want you to play with it too. I want you to ask yourself, Do I see me and I paused long enough to reflect on who I am and how I show up in the world and what my way of being is. I see the part of you that maybe you don't have to grow older to see too. And maybe this conversation will help you say who? Who will I be when I'm old? How will people see me? And how do I want to leverage that? Their view of me how can I show them my true authentic self? How can I open my heart and relax into whatever age I am today? I want to be the me You see, in my future. I want to see that version of me. I see the part of you that only when you're older, you will see too, you will see too. I send you off, please reflect on that. And if there's some masks or some layers, or some work, some reflections, some mirror work, there's something that you need to do. So you can go ahead and pull that version of you in to this day and in this way of being ah Coffee with Nicoa Thanks for listening. Make sure to subscribe so you never miss an espresso shot or a full length Coffee with Nicoa interview created just for you. Hands on we'll already have a con in that way.
